  • Lower the brightness. To achieve that, Click start, Settings, Brightness, Turn off Automatically Adjust, and choose the brightness you desire
  • Shorter Screen timeout. This helps save battery power and also prevents your phone from turning on by accident when you put it away. Click start, Settings, Lock & Wallpaper , Change screen timeout
  • Disable connections such as Xbox Live, Turn off the "Connect to Xbox LIVE" Settings
  • Change the default email sync to manually, Click Start, Setting, Email & Accounts, Tap "Download new content, choose Manually" and click done.
  • Lastly, use a dark theme or background so that it can also reduce the usage of your Windows Phone 7
